Deepali and Jinesh wedding celebrations took place over two days and what a fun few days it was. The Hindu wedding ceremony took place at one of my favourite venues The Oshwal centre in Potters bar and if you’ve never visited, I would highly recommend going, the Derasar (temple) grounds are so unique, you’d feel that you’re in India.
Despite the rain (in July) this didn’t stop anyone from having a great time. The wedding ceremony was conducted by Sundar Madhava Das and the backdrop was beautifully set up by Jay & I events. There were a lot of memorable moments that really stood out, especially when Jin approached the mandap, he was Mobbed by Deepali’s sisters for his shoes and what a scene it was. Everyone was grabbing them from all agnles while they were still on his feet, it was all in good fun but sadly, the shoes didn’t survive. The other memorable moment was during the vidhai, as Deepali went to throw the rice over her shoulder, she threw it over herself, everyone’s reaction was priceless, especially Jin’s!
When Deepali and Jin told me about their wedding reception plans, I was very excited! Outdoor games, a falafel wrap truck, boat ride and a really intimate party at a venue on a lake, I knew this would be special and unique.
Again, it rained but that didn’t matter, everyone was having a great time in afternoon playing croquet, Jenga, eating and drinking away before the evening celebrations kicked off! Deepali and Jin arrived on a boat with everyone cheering as they docked, the evening was full of awesome speeches, some bets going on followed by an epic party hosted by Divine Musiq, what a night it was!
I really enjoyed photographing both days and I’m super excited to showcase a selection of my favourite photographs. Deepali and Jin, I wish you both all the happiness in the world and thank you so much for having me capture your precious memories!
Big Shout out to Sailesh and Meheer for their assistance over the two days.
