I met Punam and Sanjay back in January and we hit it off instantly! I felt like I’d known them for a long time and I was really excited to be capture their Hindu wedding celebrations which took place at Boreham House in Chelmsford, Essex.
We spoke about the importance of the day and the spiritual aspect of the ceremony which I loved hearing all about. For me, understanding what is important to a couple is really important and this is something I like to know in the build-up to the wedding day.
Over the coming months, I got to know Punam and Sanjay really well, we spoke often on our WhatsApp group and there was a pre wedding event in March, followed by our pre wedding shoot which was a lot of fun and I was super exited to capture their week-long celebrations.
From all the months of planning, it was time for big Asian wedding at Boreham House. The weather wasn’t that great in the morning, but that didn’t stop anyone enjoying themselves and the day was full of incredible emotion from the start.
The day started off with a very loud, energetic Jaan arrival by Sanjay’s side and they were greeted by Punam’s side with equal energy. The Hindu wedding was beautifully conducted and I loved documenting all of the little moments that unfolded throughout the day. Having been part of Punam’s pre-wedding event the day before, I knew the vidhai would be emotional and I didn’t shy away from the tears as (to me), these moments are equally important to capture as the happy moments. I know what it’ll mean for the families in years to come.
After the Hindu wedding, it was time for the Civil marriage followed by an evening meal, (The pizza was much welcomed), some speeches and then the perfect end to a day of celebrations…a sparkler exit followed by a stunning firework display!
Punam and Sanjay, it was an absolute honour to be part of your week long of wedding celebrations, I honestly felt like one of the family so Thank you for making me feel so welcomed at each event and I’m sure we’ll continue our friendship over the years!
