Thank you 2022

It feels like the 2022 wedding season went really, really fast! I still remember the first wedding back on the 1st of March and I was buzzing to be back behind the camera. The wedding was at one of my favourite venues (Northbrook Park) and after the shoot, I said to Tejas that the tone for 2022 was set and I knew it would be an epic season…which it was!

My wedding season was nicely paced and I had the joy of getting to know some amazing couples and being part of their special day. I’m not going to lie; my couples are the BEST so Thank You all for having me there to celebrate your day with you! I know we’ve started long life friendships and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

This year, I met many previous couples (and family members) from years gone by and it was great to see them all. It’s amazing to be part of so many family wedding and to be called ‘One of the family’ by so many…a true blessing.

Every wedding I shot was unique and personal to me and I found moments that really stood out. Shooting a wedding day is so much more than just the ceremony itself. It’s all the little moments in between the main parts of the day that really make each wedding different. It’s about the reaction to seeing each other on the day, your parents crazy dance moves or the hugs after the wedding, all the way down to the way you and your partner hold hands or the smile/tear from your parents watching you with pride. This is what documenting a wedding day is all about as it’ll be person to you! If anyone would love to chat more about this, please hit me up as I can go on and on about this!

In all honesty, when I go to ‘work’ it feels like I’m going to play and have fun and I feel blessed and privileged to be able to do this as shooting weddings is something I truly love doing. Niece and nephew say that I don’t work and that I just go and play with my cameras every weekend! there’s some truth in that, I think ?

I’m always excited on a wedding day and even with a million things going on in my head, I try and stay ‘in the zone’ and most importantly I have fun, I get to hang out with some amazing people and create lifetime memories. I work alongside and have fun with some great industry friends and we come together as a team for the couple…yeah that’s kinda cheesy to say, but it’s true. Masala tea, coffee and cake keep me going (along with my packed lunches!)

There are a handful of people that are always there for me on each shoot since I’ve started started so I want to give a special shoutout to Tejas, Meheer, Jai and Sailesh for having my back on each shoot or just having a chat, supporting each other, keeping me motivated when it gets really hectic. I’m truly blessed to call you my brothers and you all keep me sane. I look forward to many more shoots together in the coming years!

A special shoutout also goes to my wife Pinki (@mrsgstreats) for putting up with my craziness, my mad work schedule, being there, having my back, making sure I eat properly and keeping my side of the bed warm with a hot water bottle, you’re the best! x

So now (finally) onto the photographs – WOW is all I can say, I’m really excited with this selection and each year.
Picking my favourite wedding photographs started off fairly straight forward, I went through each shoot, picking out my fav moments, then combining them all together and then cutting down further which was really really painful. I went from approx. 30000 delivered wedding photographs down to 1800, and then painstakingly down to 156 and I’m really proud to share these moments with you all.

To my 2022 couples Thank you once again for the good times and for choosing me to be part of your day, it was an absolute pleasure. My upcoming 2023 couples, I cannot wait to meet you all and I look forward to documenting your wedding events. I only ask for two things, just be present and enjoy the celebrations.

Thanks everyone and see you soon.

Sanj x
