Sonia and Timal had an incredible two-day wedding celebration at Fennes Estate in Essex. They had a dream of having an outdoor Hindu wedding as the grounds are absolutely stunning, so they went for it. Up until a few days before the wedding day, I had only spoken to Sonia on the phone and exchanged messages on whatsapp, but when we met, I felt like we’d known each other for a long time and I was very excited to be part of the celebrations.
The day before the Hindu wedding, Shiv (the videographer) and I encouraged Sonia and Timal to have the wedding outdoors even thought the weather reports weren’t that positive. We even made a wish to the weather gods that night! But guess what? The next morning, it was grey clouds and a bit chilly. I was worried, wondering if we had made a mistake by encouraging an outdoor wedding. But then, around 9 am, the sun broke through, and it warmed up perfectly for an outdoor wedding, Phew!
It was worth the risk, and the Hindu wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful, with the stunning grounds as the backdrop. I even got a tan!
Timal’s lively process kick-started the day, and everyone was buzzing with energy. The excitement carried on throughout the day, and I had an absolute blast capturing the wedding ceremony as it unfolded. The Hindu wedding was conducted by Sunday Dar, and everyone was captivated by the different rituals and it was the perfect balance of tradition with a modern twist.
After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate, and these guys partied like crazy! I don’t think I ever saw the dancefloor empty. It was all thanks to DJ Rugrat and the Musical Movement team.
Throughout the day, there were a mix of emotions – smiles, joy, laughter, fun, and even a few tears. That’s what a wedding is all about, right? I had an incredible time being part of Sonia and Timal’s day, and I absolutely love how the photographs have turned out.
Sonia and Timal, thank you so much for choosing me to be part of your wedding day. I had an amazing time with you and your loved ones, and it was an honour documenting your special day.
