I’ve loved every wedding that I’ve photographed this year and with the great we’ve had, I was itching to photograph my 1st outdoor wedding and in July I got that opportunity.
Sonia and Prakash’s wedding was like a family wedding to me as I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a lot of their family and friend’s weddings (from Chinmaya Mission) in the past so I knew quite a lot of people there, also I’m sure Prakash and I have a family connection from a few generations ago.
In addition to the Hindu Wedding, I photographed their Civil wedding, Engagement and Sangeet night which were all great fun. Like most Indian weddings, Prakash insisted that I ruin my diet while doing the Insanity workout and tuck into some Gulab Jaman…which I then burned off the next morning as expected! During the sangeet night, I even managed to do some Garba which isn’t the easiest thing to do when you have 2 camera’s attached to your hips
So the big day arrived! The stunning Shendish Manor in Herefordshire was the venue and behind the Manor in the grounds is where the wedding was going to take place. Gayatri Mandaps had done an amazing job in setting up the mandap and seating area, the sun was beaming down and it was going to get hot! Thankfully there was a massive tree with lots of shade so as expected, a lot of guests moved over as the mid-day sun came over us, sadly I could not move over to the shaded so I ended getting a bit of a tan!
The wedding was great fun, everyone was in high spirits, Prakash’s gran even mimicked Prakash’s famous dance move (There’s only one which is easy to follow!) Sonia looked stunning and I love how everyone in Sonia’s family get involved, especially the Naran sister helping her get ready, this definitely shows the closeness of all 8 sister, and who can forget the help from the 5 brothers and 3 brother in laws, have I got that right? 😉
So now, presenting my 1st outdoor Hindu Wedding conducted by Mahdvaji. Sonia and Prakash, I wish you both all the very best for the future, may the moments captured fill you both with emotion every time you look at your album.

The fans came to great use!
Like a lot of grooms, (including myself) Prakash had trouble putting on the Mangal Sutra and needed a bit of extra help, thanks Bina!
Bina wore Prakash’s shoes and hide them under her Sari and demanded that he dances if he wants them back…
…Which he did!
Thanks for viewing everyone 🙂 Until next time!
