I had a great time photographing Prina and Dillan’s wedding events earlier this summer. The Pre Wed shoot was memorable as we were close to getting arrested for 6 violations during the Pre Wedding shoot! The Civil Wedding at Syon House was beautiful, Dillan dressed his green Smart car with a Top Hat and a bow tie…from a distance I thought some nutter was driving to Syon Park with a dustbin on their roof, then soon realised it was Dillan! knowing how Dillan is I expected him to do something creative and everyone loved the car! I remember the post Civil celebration at Prina’s house where there was a secret garden and a HUGE cupcake! I loved all of the little details Prina and Dillan had put into their wedding. Prina told me that her families grew marigolds for the big day, each coconut, beetle nut that was decorated was done by family members and all the efforts of the family was well worth it. Dillan even made a turban for his car that replicated the one he wore!

So Prina and Dillan’s Hindu wedding took place at the very grand Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Syon Park. The wedding ceremony was beautifully conducted by Vasudev Mehta, there were smiles all around, and the vidhai was a happy one which was the 1st time I’ve ever seen that. In the evening The wedding room was decorated with a Phantom of the Opera theme décor and everyone partied until late…I hope the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club who were staying there weren’t too disturbed that evening!

I recently photographed Poonam and Chris’  Sikh Wedding ceremony at the stunning Gurdwara Sahib in Leamington Spa. Both families met outside for the Milni, then onto breakfast and soon after, it was down to business – the wedding ceremony itself which I had a great time photographing. After the wedding, we headed off to The Heritage Motor Centre in Warwick for the reception party which was filled with lots of bhangra, food, a dance performance by Desi Nach and some cracking speeches.

I knew it was going to be a long day, so I was fully stocked up with RedBull and protein bars to keep me fully energised and the buzz and excitement of the day always keeps me going.

Now for some visual stimulation – a selection of photographs from the day which I always find hard to select as I usually have to cut down from several hundreds!…Poonam, Chris, may the photographs bring back the memories of a fantastic day, I wish you all the happiness in the world.
